• Poem Explained

Mary Magdalene arrived in Egypt just after the crucifixion and so called "resurrection" of Jesus.  Mary fled to Egypt, Alexandria, where later she had her first child, a daughter Sarah-Tamar.  Alexandria had a strong Jewish community at the time of Jesus and was in eay reach from Judea.  When Sarah was 12 years they fled once more to the south of France.  Hence why locals describe a young Egyptian girl on the arriving boat and why they hold this young girl in such a high degree.  Indeed like here mother she also has a festival, May 23rd to 25th where she is called St Sarah the Egyptian.  Jesus soon arrived in France at a later date and they had two more sons Jesus II & Josephes.  Mary Magdalene's feast day is July 22nd, the same as Isis the Egyptian Goddess.

The name Tamer (Palm Tree), assimilated in Greek to the name Damaris.  The name Sarah in hebrew means princess, thus Sarah was her distinction.  "Tamar the Sarah"

  • Poem: The Voyage Home

    O' Mary of Magdalene,
    Bride of Cana you stand.
    With a smile of happyness,
You watch your princess on Egyptian sands.

    A boat is ready,
    A journey awaits,
    O' Mary of Magdalene,
    Your princess will be safe.

    Before you leave,
    You turn and look,
    You remember your companion,
    But O' don't feel sad.

    Yet he will return,
    At another time.
But for now dear Magdalene you must go,
And with you, the sacred sangraal.
